Kelly's Site Fight Chronicles
January 25, 1998 (Super Bowl Sunday)
On January 21, 1998, I submitted my site to be in the Site Fights and
was told that I would be notified of my eligibility within a week's time.
Wow, what a long week this has been! I am having a little difficulty
understanding how the teams are set up and just exactly what is involved
in the contest. Hopefully, when I receive my response, should I be lucky
enough to be accepted, I will have the answers to my questions.
January 27, 1998
Well, I got my "weigh-in" form today. Now all I have to do is decide
which team I want to be on. It sure would be better for us indecisive
folks if a team were just assigned. Take a chance, Kelly, just go for the gold. Pick
the one you want and just hope you will be accepted. So, I chose
Grapholina's Gladiators!
February 3, 1998
I got my acceptance today from the Site Fights Dman and an email from
Grapholina welcoming me to the team. I will be starting the fights in
"The Pit" (sounds fairly ominous, doesn't it?) on Monday, February 9,
1998.
February 7, 1998
Well, things are in a "tither" today..what with trying to get
everything just right for the Site Fights, but I wanted to attempt a
little cheer for my team. So here goes:
The Site Fights have started!
The course has been charted!
But no matter the outcome,
We are all big "grinners".
For in Grapholina's kingdom,
We are already winners!!
Go, Gladiators, Go!!
February 9, 1998
Today is the very first day in the Site Fights! My wish is that all of
the Gladiators are champions this week. I was really excited to find that
the Fairy Gwenn had paid my site a visit and fairy dusted me!

S.O.S. If there REALLY is someone out there who reads these entries,
will you
please help me? I have tried and failed so many times in the past couple
of days to put a spirit stick into the guestbooks of my fellow Gladiators,
and just can't seem to get it right. Can you/will you help me,
please?

Woohoo! How much better can it get than this? All four of us
qualified! Go, Gladiators, Go!! A special thank you to Luddy of Luddy's
Legacy who was
kind enough to teach me how to put a spirit stick into a guestbook. You
know, it takes a special kind of person to be so thoughtful.

Dandelion Dreams qualified every day this week so far and so have
Kristie and Elizabeth's sites. It is my belief that the Gladiators have a
very good team. Everyone is so spirit-filled, too. This is going to be
so much fun!

Dandelion Dreams made it to Arena East for this week where there is
really some tough competition. I guess it's a good thing I have the day
off today to give me a chance to change the address on all my pages for
anyone who is good enough to vote for me.

Gosh, is coming in second a good thing? You bet it is! You can't
believe all the wonderful kind-hearted people who have taken taken time
out of their busy lives to offer a word of encouragement and praise. I
thank all of you. Dandelion Dreams is competing in Arena East again this
week.

Guess what!!! Woohoo!! We got a "10" on our first day!! And, on top
of all that, we got dusted by Mab O'Midnight and now we are MAGIC!

With one thought in mind - to become the Site Fights star
To be at the top and glitter so bright
To become the champion of the fantastic Site Fights.
To do that we first are thrown in the pit
And fight our way out if we're ever so fit
Then on to the arena to win once again
Then onwards and upward to the Dome to win and defend.
While along the way a helping hand we will lend
Because we are champions and winners and friends
Of whom do I speak in this missive so long?
I speak of a team so helpful, so kind, and so strong.
I speak of a team who has spirit much greater
A team who is know as Grapholina's Gladiators.
This team is the greatest and strongest and best
This team will be victorious over all of the rest.
The fighters are strong and honest and true
Who are consistently good sports through and through
And are here to make friends
As well as defend
And are here to have fun
While becoming number one.

Dandelion Dreams made it to the Colosseum!!! But the only reason that
happened is because of the wonderful people who take time each day to vote
in the site fights. I appreciate each and every one of you! I
appreciate, too, the fairies who have stopped by to sprinkle a little
fairy dust and magic on my site. This is for you:
A fairy came by my site today.
She was so quiet and still.
She sprinkled my pages with magic
And said "The Site Fights are like a hill".
You take one step at a time
And never, never stop.
Then before you know it,
You'll be standing at the top!
You'll have fun and make friends,
And you'll be a winner
And then you should take this wand
And sprinkle magic on the beginners!
For you should never lose sight

Ooops! I've been pretty remiss in keeping this journal
up-to-date. Dandelion Dreams made it to the Warzone - This Side!!! Can
you believe it! This Irish lass actually made it to the big time! We
started on Monday, March 16, 1998, and made a "9" on our first day.
Dandelion Dreams has the most terrific supporters in the world. Rain or
shine, these people make it to the polls to vote each and every day. And
guess what else happened to Dandelion Dreams on this most wonderful day of
the year, St. Patrick's Day? Dandelion Dreams won the Spirit Award. Yes,
it's true. Woohoo!!! Thank you...each and every one of you...who helped
this to happen. I wonder if I have enough space left with my internet
provider to upload the Spirit Award so that you can see it, too? Well,
I've give it a try. Once again, thank you, thank you, thank you.
